    Hi,

    is there away that I can use my own slider widget for the main slider on the front page?

    Hello
    you will need to make some changes for this.
    First you will need to hide the slider using additional css.
    go to dashboard >> appearance >> theme editor >> on the right side you will see the files and folders of the theme
    >> expand the folder template-parts >> scroll down a little to find the file section-slider.php and click on it to open its code >> and on the end of the line you can paste your widget or shortcode of your slider >> click on save changes
